ti yoga(meditation), Karma Yoga (work) and Raj Yoga. In my urge to provide education to rural people in particular and all in general, Godavari foundation specially run the courses which are not available in this region for prosperity of the people and regional development.
As you know, Godavari foundation was established in Jalgaon City of Maharashtra State (India) in 1993. Today the foundation runs about 18 institutions that include Engineering, Agri. Engg., Management, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Law, B.Sc.(Biotech), Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Interior designs & many others. In addition foundation runs English medium schools. The foundation also expects to start Medical, Dental and few other courses very soon. In India we generally derive inspiration from the ancient Indian philosophy and belief that knowledge has the power of God. I feel deeply heart when I read that the literacy rate in India in hovering around 50 to 70% inspite of India’s old heritage and attributing knowledge the highest place. I, therefore, again remind all about our ancient Indian philosophy of Gyan-Karma (knowledge-action cycle). This means knowledge and action are complementary to each other i.e. Knowledge generates action and action in turn generates knowledge. In today’s technologically driven society, the Gyan-Karma cycle(knowledge-action cycle) is very clearly demonstrated. We have seen unprecedented technological development and progress in recent years which is almost gaining the power of God. Human civilization has understood that
through education and science, we can achieve even the impossible. There is a “Great Hope and Satisfaction” in the minds of Scientist, Engineers, Doctors and Erudites, even in the midst of unbelievable rise in population. In last fifty years average life of India has gone upto 65 years. In the era where illiteracy is termed as a curse, it will, therefore, be unfortunate in the present scenario if we fail to educate all. I shall feel sad even if a single person remains illeterate or do not get opportunity to undertake higher education.
I have a personal satisfaction that many Great minds and personalities have visited and appreciated our institutions and extended their whole hearted support in our quest for excellence in education arousing National spirit. I wish to see a society having freedom and excellence in thought process with the power of education we tend to provide in our institutions. My vision is to see students to develop into a multifaceted personality, a great patriot, outstanding statesman, a true technocrate, self driven, self motivated, having leadership quality, who will contribute positively for the progress and development of the society.
Poverty alleviation, proper health care, malnutrition and environment are major concern for the world today. I sincerely believe that students and graduates of Godavari Foundation will be the torch bearer in solving these issues as they are being educated through various programs and camps organized by the Foundation during their course programs. Fortunately we are able to develop a dedicated team of teachers and staffs who are working hard to fulfill the aims and objectives of the foundation. As a result within a short span, we find our alumnis occupying high ranking positions in various countries of the world. However I advice them to be modest in success and courageous in adversities.
I, therefore, welcome new generation students to join us more in numbers in our stride to realise our dream where all will progress and are able to live their livelihood with honour and dignity. Let us together bring the best tradition in education, which will be hallowed by all, with a tenacious mission and clarity of vision.
Yours sincerely
